 Do you know anyone who is bilingual or multilingual?

 


Is your mother language popular around the world? Explain.

 Is it important to speak more than one language? Explain.

 What are the benefits of speaking more languages?

 Would you move to another country to learn a new language? Explain.


Could languages help you to know more about other cultures and meet new people all over the world? Explain.

Is it better to study with a native teacher or a non-native teacher? Explain.

What activities can you try to improve your non-native language level?

What do you enjoy the most when studying a new language: Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading, Listening, etc.? Why?

What do you think is the most difficult skill to learn when learning a new language:

Speaking, Listening, Writing, Reading? Explain.


3- Click on the pictures – They will show you some more language: phrases, idioms, or vocabulary.

  • Check out the new phrases and lexis you can use.
  • Take notes on phrases or words you don’t know or don’t remember.
  • Choose your favourite phrases/idioms and think about when you can use them.
  • Share with the class.

5- Look and talk.

  • According to the pictures, discuss the following questions:
    • Is it good to use a dictionary when learning a new language? Why? Why not?
    • Nowadays, is it easier to study a new language because of technology? Explain.
    • Do you get good grades in your non-native language classes?
    • Do you prefer learning languages in groups or individually?

  • What factors would you consider when choosing a new language to study?

 

7- Watch the video and take notes.

  • Listen carefully and analyze the idioms, phrases, or phrasal verbs.
  • Write some of them that you would use when speaking in a regular conversation.
  • Pause the video when you need to.
  • Share with the class.
