Vicky is a girl who loves painting. The paintings she makes are great. Her teacher always tells her that she has a big talent. After school, she does her homework, eats and helps her mum with the chores. In the evening she goes to a special room her father built for her; it is a nice studio. In this place, she has all the materials she needs to make her paintings – paint, paintbrushes, bowls with water, fabric, a table, and many more things.

Every Saturday, she invites her brother and some other friends to see all the paintings she made during the week. She knows what her friends like; animals, parks, gardens and sports.
This week she has 30 paintings to show. She made all those paintings because she is planning to invite her aunt Zoe. Vicky’s aunt is a teacher in an art school and she wants her opinion about her paintings. Vicky thinks her aunt can help her to enter a competition. The winners in that competition will show their paintings in a magazine.

Vicky’s aunt asked her to make a list of all the paintings she’d like to show in the competition. Vicky got very happy and nervous. She sat on the couch and thought carefully. After some minutes, she started to write and when she finished, she phoned her aunt to give her the good news. “Aunt Zoe, I have the list you told me to write. It was very difficult because I like all my paintings.” Vicky said. “Ok, tell your mum to help you email it to me.” Vicky’s aunt said.”
Two days later, Vicky’s aunt visited her by surprise, “Vicky, I have great news for you.” “You are in the competition!” “It is next Saturday and you have to make two more paintings.”
Vicky was so happy that she thanked her aunt with a hug. “Thanks for helping me, aunt Zoe. You are the best!” Vicky said - and quickly went to work on the new paintings.
“It is great I can participate – I take the challenge!” Vicky thought.
