The Right Time
Stephen Lonnie is an American boy who has just completed his secondary education. Lately, he has been feeling anxious about an important decision he hasn’t been able to make. He has been struggling to decide what to do, what advice to take and what courses or career to do.
It had been about six months since the struggle began when Stephen found a book that helped him make that hard decision.
It was a summer day when Stephen was walking by a newspaper stand, the clock had just hit noon when a man approached him and said, “Hey, you look mad, Boy!” Stephen got confused and surprised because he didn’t know the weird man. Then the man grabbed Stephen’s right hand, put a small book with a stiff cover in it and told him, “In times of fear, of doubt or worry, take a trip into the wonderful and endless world of books. There are many stories which have been told by other boys; just like you! They have found the way to stop the struggle and succeed despite difficulties. Whatever is happening to you now, it will stop the moment you get to accept who you are, the moment you understand what your greatest talent is, and most importantly my young friend, making of all that the best show ever!”
Once again, Stephen didn’t know what to say; why a completely strange man would talk to him out of the blue, and give him advice on his decision struggle!? How did the man know about it?
Stephen took the book home and, once in his room, went through a few pages. Stephen noticed that all the words he had read at the moment just matched his current situation.
Stephen then went back to the street where he had found the weird man but had no luck with finding him. Three days later, when he finished reading the book, he got to a conclusion, “Whatever decision you have to make, you must do it in calmness and it must be true for your heart and dreams; no matter what it takes – as long as you do it without stepping on the neighbour.”
