The dark night mystery
It is a dark and stormy night. There is lightning and thunder. I am looking for some adventure. All the things I do at school are not a challenge anymore. I always get good grades and pass my tests. I´m good at sports and I´ve always won the games and competitions I have participated in. I need something new.
My name is Johan Lenwins. I am a teenager who attends Lincoln Secondary School. This camera I have here was a present from my dad. He said it was a good one. I checked that on the internet; and he was right! It is one of the most powerful cameras ever made. And because of that, I’m planning to hunt for some night creatures.
Everyone is sleeping now so I’ll get the hunting started. I’ll get some night creatures filmed.
I am the only one awake, so I must be very careful. I’ll go on the roof first. From there, I’ll be able to get some shots from a distance. Nobody in the streets, no sounds or strange noises. I guess those stories about night scary creatures are fake; just some creative story-telling to control people and get them scared.
Time to go back inside and walk through the hall. In here, the silence is making me feel a bit… I don’t know, nervous; I don’t think this I’m feeling is a scary thing. OK, I made it through the hall, it’s time to… “OH! What was that? Dad, is it you? Mum, is it you downstairs?”
Wow, this feeling is strange, I´m not sure I can go down there! I got no response! What should I do now? “Dad, is it you? Mum, is it you downstairs?” No response again…
“OH! What was that? Who closed the door? Who’s in my bedroom?!” I’m going downstairs. I can’t stay here anymore! I can barely see through the dark. I must be very careful!
What is that light coming out the basement door? Grrr… I’m going there… Who could it be? That’s a drill, that shadow’s got the shape of a drill. It was plugged! I should go back and wake up dad!
“Hey, stop there!”
“Oh, it’s talking to me now!”
“Why are you awake? What are you doing down here!”
“Sorry, Sir. I didn’t mean to interrupt you. I´m just leaving and please, don’t hurt me!”
“Why would I… What are you talking about, Johan? Turn on the lights and stop playing that night hunting thing! Don’t you remember I told you I’d be working overnight to get this work done?”
“Oh, sorry, dad! I’ll go back to bed.” Tomorrow night, the dark night mystery will be continued…
