Good Friends

Good Friends

One of the happiest days I’ve ever had was the day on which my friend Paolo came back from London. After eleven months of not seeing each other, we would have the chance to go out again and talk about all the things that had happened in our lives during this time.

It was about time to go and wait for him at the airport. I was very nervous and excited; I really don’t know how to describe the feeling I had. Then he was right there, standing in front of me. I have to say he didn’t change like a lot; however, there was something different. I couldn’t stop looking at him. I wasn’t even paying attention to what he was saying until he said, “Sam, are you OK? You’re not listening to me. You look distracted.”

I think it was the first time I fell in love, and it had been with my best friend. He was really kind to me when we got to talk about it. He said I was his best friend and that he loved me, but he didn’t know how to describe the feeling he had when he saw me again either.

At that moment, we decided to go out again and enjoy being together as friends. We had been waiting for hanging out again for so long that changing it would have been weird.

What I learned from this great experience is that relationships, like friendship, are all about love and respect.
